Silicon / Poly Base
Dense 0.06mm polymer skin membrane, built to carry a thicker, fuller grade of hair and to keep its shape for the longest of the three.
Lace Base
Micro-perforated woven lace. Heat and moisture pass straight through, and it is so light on the head that most men stop noticing it is there.
Silk Base
Triple-layer silk weave. Knots are hidden beneath the silk so hair appears to grow straight from the scalp, giving a natural scalp appearance. Also known as Mirage.

Coverage and base material are separate questions. Lace breathes best and disappears at the hairline; poly and silicon last longest and hold through sweat; silk hides the knots, which is what a visible parting needs.
